On the contrary, she thinks personal experience provides more detailed information because it is direct learning. So personal experiences are more practical and realistic. The disadvantages of getting advice is that you might not understand the situation correctly or deeply. And you might be frustrated when you rely on personal experiences. Her conclusion is that she thinks personal experiences is better still.

What do you want most in a friend: someone who is intelligent, someone who has a sense of humor, or someone who is reliable? Which one of these characteristics is most important to you? Use reasons and specific examples to explain your choice.
To begin with, as I grow older and older I began to realize that friends are so important in my life.
I thought I am not a person who get affected so much by friends, but I think I was wrong. I have always been stronly influenced by people around me.
I like to be around people who has a sterling sense of humor and this is what I want most in a friend as well. A sense of humor is very important because it not only gives energy to people but also motivates people effectively. This is really interesting that whenever I meet one of my friend who has a sense of humor, somehow I get so much inspired of the works that I would struggle at each time. And I get so many ideas from her even though she didn't speak a word about what I was struggling with. And I like that very much. Also, I think people who has a sense of humor generally are very intelligent and reliable too. People who are intelligent or reliable are not always humorous, but people who has a sense of humor are usually smart. So I love friends who has a sense of humor and I, myself would love to be a person with a sense of humor who can make people around me amused all the time the rest of my life.

Throughout our lives we are offered countless pieces of advice to help us achieve our goals and create a positive future. But sometimes we learn life through personal experiences far much better. Overall, the most effective method of learning life is to listen to the people around you first and then experience by yourself afterwards.
To start with, a good advice is very helpful for our lives by reducing the chances of wasted time and money. And good advice gives us insights and wider perspectives. If we listen to the advice of family or friends, it is likely that we will have missed any important steps to achieving our goals. For instance, when I was young, my sister went abroad to study when she was 17. And when she came back to Korea after one year, she strongly persuaded me to go overseas too. I listened to her and agreed that studying abroad will provide me powerful experiences. So I followed her. And I have never regretted once of that decision since now. However, I was pleased with my time abroad because I have also experienced and learn many things by myself after when I listened to my sister's advice. Nothing is more powerful than personal experience. It is same in dating too. It is helpful to listen to the advice about dating, but I have no idea how the guy is like, or who I go along well with unless I have personal experiences.
In conclusion, I think it is good to balance both. Experiencing personally after listening to the advice is the best way to learn life and ensure a good future.

Pride and Prejudice

I finally watched a movie, "Pride and Prejudice" the other day at home. I have wondered about this movie so much because I have watched "Becoming Jane" a long time ago, which represents a life story of Jane Austen, the author of "Pride and Prejudice". So I watched with great expectations and it didn't let me down! The background was beautiful, the music was great and the acting skills of every actors and actresses were so good. When I watched the movie, I enjoyed the cultures of that period of time very much too. I think the courtesy and the manners in that period of time is very impressive. It is very interesting to find the differences between asian cultures and western cultures in the same period of time. Since this novel was written in 1796, it was the Chosun Dynasty period in Korea. Everything is different including fashion, architecture, and daily courtesy. As a result, it is because of the different world view they had. I think also it's so amazing that she Jane was only 21 when she wrote this novel which later bacame Pride and Prejudice. Later in summer vacation, I want to watch other movies which are based on similar time period.
This is one of my favorite lines in this movie.

summary of the Contemporary Christian Music (CCM)
Christian music has been changing enormously from late 1960s. At that time, pipe organs have been used but now electric guitars and drums are set aside. We don't sings hyms as much as before but now we sing hard hitting contemporary chritian music. This type of music include various styles like rock, metal, rap, country and pop. This type of music also involves video shows, radio stations, and awards. The debate over whether it's good or bad has been a hot issue for a long time.

Week 10 Homework
On the blog. How could Chongshin University or the students be kinder to the environment? Write a report with your ideas. If you do research, quote with quotation marks or paraphrase your source. Tell where the information comes from and provide a link back to the original source.
The environmental damage is serious today. Most of the natural disasters occur because of environmental pollutions too. I believe as we are the stewards of God, we are very responsible for protecting our nature, God's creation, in order to respose to God's command. If we start to practice small environmental exercises personally, things will start to change soon.
There are actually many things that we can simply do to prevent environment pollution in our daily life basis. Following are the lists of things we can start practicing today.
1. Reduce use of disposable products (cups, chopsticks, dishs, spoons etc.)
2. Reduce trash and saparate them for recycling
3. Hand down old clothes from one child to the next
4. Do shopping when we are not hungry (if when we are hungry, we buy more food and there are more chance of food garbage)
5. Walk instead of driving in a short distance
6. Share rides or take public transportations
7. Do not change mobile phones so often (frequent change of mobile phones cause serious problems in Africa!! Caltan.. human rights.. etc.)
8. Read books or watch documentaries or do something to discover the beauty of nature
9. Do not overuse cosmetics (They are bad for our facial skin anyway)
10. Study basic environmental rules
11. Keep indoor temperature adaquately
12. Reuse papers, water(at home-bath water..), paper bags etc.
13. Travel slowly by a boat once intead of going by an airplane so easily (It costs less money too)

Optional extra credit: On your blog, write 200+ words about one of your other classes. What is the most interesting thing you have learned in that class this semester?
I did teacher training this semester at Sung Ji high school. 4 weeks of this training taught me many lessons. Above all, I learned about the qualities of being a good teacher.
I learned that the most important characteristics that make up a good teacher is willingness to corporate and communicate well with the students. To be honest, communicating well with the students was the not easy. Most of the time, I didn't really know what to say. I think I spent more time thinking than communicating. When I was teaching in the class, giving clear instructions is very important, but to do so, I had to think and prepare a lot more than I thought. I learned that a good communication skill will allow teacher to be able to command and teach students a lot more effectively. If I could successfully make a student understand difficult concepts through discussion and demonstration, the job would have been a lot easier.
Anyways, this experience inpired me a lot of being a teacher. And I am very thankful to God for that.
