I did teacher training this semester at Sung Ji high school. 4 weeks of this training taught me many lessons. Above all, I learned about the qualities of being a good teacher.
I learned that the most important characteristics that make up a good teacher is willingness to corporate and communicate well with the students. To be honest, communicating well with the students was the not easy. Most of the time, I didn't really know what to say. I think I spent more time thinking than communicating. When I was teaching in the class, giving clear instructions is very important, but to do so, I had to think and prepare a lot more than I thought. I learned that a good communication skill will allow teacher to be able to command and teach students a lot more effectively. If I could successfully make a student understand difficult concepts through discussion and demonstration, the job would have been a lot easier.
Anyways, this experience inpired me a lot of being a teacher. And I am very thankful to God for that.
I totally agree with you. A true teacher does not only teach knowledge on the course books. The true teachers must communicate with them and listen of what students feel something like that.
답글삭제I imagine it would be not easy to work at Sung Ji high school as a trainee teacher, but I'm sure you realized many things to be ready for an inspirational teacher as you said!
답글삭제I think it was a really great experience to you. When I'm teaching some children, I also feel like that. To be a good teacher is really hard, but I think you can be a good, warm-hearted teacher!
